5 days 4 nights Gorilla trip

Day 1: Arrive in Entebbe Today, we land at Entebbe and travel for one hour via the lakeside town of Entebbe before reaching Kampala, Uganda's capital, for an overnight BB (1hrs)

Day 2: Kisoro After an early morning departure from Kampala we drive further west on into the depths of Uganda and arrive at our base in Kisoro. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) (8- 9hrs)

Day 3: From our Kisoro base, depending on where the gorilla permits are available, and where the gorillas are located, will be viewing them in either the Mgahinga or Bwindi National Parks in Uganda, the Virunga National Park in the DRC or at Ruhengeri in Rwanda. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) (1- 8 hrs)

Day 4: Kisoro - Lake Bunyonyi: Meaning ?small birds? in the local Rukiga language, is ideal for bird watching. Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest Crater Lake in Africa and home to a large number of bird and fish species as well as otters. It is a short drive for two to three hours through arguably some of the most picturesque scenery in Uganda We shall relax the rest of the day and night (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) (3 hrs)

Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi ? Kampala: after the morning birding tour and photography of the morning lake views, we head to Kampala via Kabale town. Arrive Mbarara in time of lunch and have lunch at one of the town hotels then head for Kampala for dinner and over night

Gorillas Murchison, Primates and Queen Elizabeth

Day one: Morning pick up from Entebbe Airport. Start the tour with a 4 - 5 hour drive to Murchison falls National Park. Move on to the top of the magnificent falls where you will enjoy your picnic lunch as you marvel at the mighty Nile forced into a seven meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades. The Nile can be viewed at different points up to the Baker's Summit. Dinner and overnight at a chosen hotel.

Day Two: After an early morning breakfast, embark on a half day game drive on the northern bank of the river Nile. Escorted by game ranger, you may opt for a game walk while trailing animals and studying animal spoors. Game in this area includes Giraffe, Elephant, Harte beest, Lion, Uganda Kob, Oribi and a variety of savannah and woodland birds. Return to the Lodge and enjoy the peace and quiet at the swimming pool. After lunch, take a boat cruise along the river Nile for game viewing at a close range. This is a paradise of the Hippo and Crocodiles. Retire for Dinner and overnight at a chosen hotel.

Day three: After an early breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park via Bugungu gate. Here you will view the shores of Lake Albert and drive through and up the escarpment which is part of the western leg of the East African rift valley. Arrive in Kibale National Park in time for Dinner and overnight at Primate lodge.

Day four: After breakfast, head for Kibale forest for a half day walk in search of primates. During the walk, black and white colobus monkey, Red tailed monkey, Baboon, Grey cheeked mangabeys or the chimpanzee are a common sight. After lunch, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After an evening game drive, transfer to your accommodation for dinner and overnight at samba safari camp. (B, L, D).

Day five: After an early morning cup of tea at 6:30am, depart for a game drive on the northern parts of the park along the Kasenyi track. This is the best time for opportunities to view the cats in action. Later, return for breakfast; take another cruise on the Kazinga to see herds of Buffalo, Hippo and other animals at the edge of the channel as they cool off. Depending on the season European migrant birds like the terns and gulls congregate here in large flocks. Afternoon transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the gorilla sanctuary. And spend the night in Buhoma rest camp.

Day six: After breakfast and briefing by park rangers and with picnic lunch, embark on a 30 minutes - 8 hours trek to find the Mountain gorillas. The tracking starts at the area where the gorillas spent the previous day. On sighting gorillas, you will be allowed a full hour with them. You then retire for dinner and overnight at Kitandara Luxury tented camp. But for the energetic, there is a possibility of a village guided walk to experience some of the community tourism projects.

Day seven: After breakfast, transfer to Mbarara arriving in time for lunch at the Agip motel. Proceed to Kampala and then to the Airport.

8 - 11 days Chimps, Gorillas and communities Uganda trip.

Day 1: Pick up from the airport to tourist hotel in Kampala. Dinner and overnight Namirembe guest house

Day 2: Kampala to Kibale, Travel from Kampala to Fort Portal and stay at primate lodge.

Day 3: After breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park, 40 minutes drive, famous for its chimps, its high density of primates, and bird species. Spending an hour observing the group of chimps interacting is one of the most rewarding experiences you?ll have. This afternoon you will go for the swamp walk in the Magombe Swamp and Bird Sanctuary with a highly experienced local guide. Then transfer to Ruboni community camp

Day 4: this day in the Mubuku valley bellow the Rwenzori mountains. After an early breakfast, walk through the small village of Nyakalengija, and enjoy the spectacular views of the Portal Peaks that envelope the Rwenzori. In the afternoon you visit the community development projects in Ruboni, Visit the projects or take the village forest walk with the guide along the edges of Rwenzori Mountains National Park, pass by the traditional healer and the hillside farms to see how the locals have survived on these steep slopes of the Rwenzori foothills. Other options include seeing the craft making demonstration, the black- smith, the traditional storyteller and ending with a traditional dance performed by the locals this evening we shall transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Accommodation at Simba safari camp

Day 7: After breakfast, transfer to Kisoro for dinner and over night the night. Dinner and over night in the Kisoro tourist hotel.

Day 8: After breakfast transfer to Nkuringo and briefing by the ranger guides, embark on a 30minute ? 8 hours trek to find the mountain gorillas. The tracking starts at the area where the gorillas ware the previous day. After a full hour with the gorillas, return to Kisoro tourist hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Early breakfast in the morning connect to Kabale and have a night on Lake Bunyonyi. On arrival, we relax at the island for diner and overnight

Day 10: After breakfast, we participate in the lake activities, birding around the island, the canoe tour or the cultural tour to the pigmies. Dinner and overnight at Bushara island camp

Day 11: After breakfast with the morning views of the lake, transfer to Kampala. Arriving in Mbarara in time of lunch at Agip motel after lunch, we connect to Entebbe via Kampala for the flight.

Itinerary details

Day 1: Entebbe - Kampala: today we arrive at Entebbe airport. We shall connect via the Entebbe lake side town to go to Kampala for dinner and over night. Entebbe is located on the shores of lake Victoria (1hr)

Day 2: Kampala: After breakfast Morning pick up from Kampala. Start the tour 4 -5 hours drive towards Murchison Falls national park. We shall arrive at Boomu wonems group for dinner and overnight at Boomu women?s campsite.

Day 3: Boomu Murchison: This morning, after an early breakfast, we shall go for the community experience. Participate in the cooking tour and village walk at Boomu Kigaragara community. After the community experience, drive to the national park and transfer to the magnificent top of the falls where you will enjoy your picnic lunch as you marvel at the mighty Nile forced into a seven crevice to thunder 45 metres bellow in a series of cascades. The Nile can be viewed at different points up to the baker?s summit. Dinner and over night at any hotel in the park.

Day 4: Murchison: After an early morning breakfast, embark on a half-day game drive on the northern bank of the river Nile. Escorted by game ranger, you may opt for a game walk. While trailing animals and studying animal spoors. Game in this area includes Giraffe, elephant, Harte beest, lion Uganda kob, Crib and a variety of savannah and woodland birds. Return to the lodge and the rest of the time can be spent at the swimming pool. After lunch, take a boat cruise along the river Nile for game viewing at close quarters. This is a paradise of the hippo and crocodiles. After the game activities.

Day 5: Murchison - Kibale: After an early breakfast, transfer to Kibale national park. This day we shall go via Bugungu gate. Here you will view the shores of Lake Albert and drive through and up the escarpment, which is part of the western leg of the east African rift valley and a series of human settlements with unique traditional African architecture to a lodge close to Kibale national park for diner and overnight.

Day 6: Kibale - Ruboni: After breakfast, head for Kibale forest national park for a half-day walk in the search of primates during the walk. Black and white Columbus monkey, red tailed monkey, baboon, Gray-cheeked mangabeys or the chimpanzee are a common sight. After lunch, we take the community swamp walk at Bigodi wetland sanctuary for up to three hours then transfer to the Ruboni community camp in the base of Rwenzori mountains of the moon. A welcome evening with traditional dances performed by the local Bakonzo people dinner and overnight at Ruboni Community camp.

Day 7: Ruboni - Queen Elizabeth: In the afternoon, after the forest walk and village cultural experience, we transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park via Kasese town. Arrive in Queen Elizabeth national park in time for dinner and over night stay.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth: After an early morning cup of tea at 6:30am, depart for a game drive on the northern part of the park along the kasenyi track. This is the best time for opportunities of viewing the cats in action. Later, return for breakfast; take a boat cruise on the kazinga for herds of buffalo, hippo and other animals at the edge of the charnel as they cool off. Depending on the season, European migrant birds like the terns and gulls congregate here in large flocks. After, transfer to Lake Mburo national park.

Day 9: Queen Elizabeth - Bwindi: After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi via Ishashsa. A possible game drive in Ishashsa sector looking for the tree climbing lions.

Day 10: Bwindi: From our Bwindi base, or depending on where the gorilla permits are available, and where the gorillas are located, we will be viewing them in either the Mgahinga or Bwindi National Parks in Uganda, the Virunga National Park in the DRC or at Ruhengeri in Rwanda. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 11: Bwindi - Kampala: in the morning after breakfast, we tart our long dive to Kampala arriving Mbarar in time of lunch and then after lunch connect to to reach in the evening.

Day 12: Kampala - Ssese Islands: today early in the morning heat to Entebbe, we catch the ferry to ssese islands at around 8:00am and on arrival, enjoy Ssese island sand beaches and forest walking.

Day 13: Ssese Islands - Entebbe: This morning, we shall take the morning sunrise views, bird watching, canoeing and visiting traditional doctors. This afternoon, we catch the ferry back to Entebbe for the night flight.
